Buying A New Suit

Are you thinking about buying a new suit' If so, information and contradicting advice seems to be coming at the consumer from all angles. Style experts and article writers all seem to be advising of the latest styles hitting the catwalks, but this does not necessarily mean that these are going to be the best choicees individually for yourself.

You must decide upon the right color for your required use of the suit. Many of these choices are dependent upon whether or not you will be wearing your suit for business or social gatherings. For example a pinstripe suit looks fantastic in the office but there is no place for such attire at informal occasions.

The style also matters tremendously. You have a choice of single or double breasted. Double breasted men's suits are the product of a bygone age'or so you would think. There has been a resurgence in their popularity, and they are now becoming more and more fashionable.

Consider also having a suit made to measure. It will be made to flatter your physique, something difficult for an off the peg item.

There are a number of different fabrics popular with suit wearers. Of these, wool is by far the most accepted. It has so many qualities non existent in other fabrics that despite it's cost, a wool suit should be your first choice.

Also the fabric is important. If you wish to wear your suit every day to a hot office, you would be well advised to steer clear of heavier wools. However, linen suits although light and cool will crease after a days work. In this example choose a wool and polyester blend which will give you the best of both worlds.

You must match the shirt and tie carefully. Your shirt must be suitable to wear alone. If you remove your jacket, you wouldn't want your shirt to embarrass you.

Finally, the best advice in the world will be no match for a critical partner or spouse. When you set off to buy a new suit, if an honest opinion can be given by your wife, or even someone else's wife, listen to it. After all, although it's important to feel comfortable, it's just as important to look good. It's no good trying to convince yourself.
