Dinner Suit Details
Dinner Suit Vs. Business Suit
It is nice to be able to wear a nice suit to dinner from time to time. This suit is not quite as popular and strictly mandated within dinner gatherings as it used to be, but people still do wear them.
To distinguish, a sport coat or blazer is a tailored jacket for men but a dinner suit always refers to some form of tuxedo. If you are going to a nice dinner or to a dinner party that states, "jacket and tie required," you have an opportunity to show off one of your nice tuxedos. If you have a couple of nice business suits from which to choose, feel free to appropriate one of those into dinner attire, as most people will not even distinguish among the different suit and jacket types.
Tuxedos
If you want to do things right, go with something traditional and classy. The first step is to find the balance between a tuxedo that fits and a tuxedo in which you are comfortable. Remember, we're eating dinner, save room in your stomach and your waistline.
Tips
Make sure that the jacket is not too tight. You want to be able to act naturally and have close-to-full range of motion in your shoulders There is nothing more embarrassing than reaching for the butter and not being able to lift your arm because your tux is too tight.
Also remember that you are going to be eating. Choose pants that are not too snug around the midline. This is, after all, one of the things that a tailor can easily adjust for you. Everyone enters a sedated "food coma" after a large steak dinner, and you donât want to have to loosen your buttons after such a nice meal. Luckily, this dinner jacket does not have to be too conservative.
You can mix up the colors, especially in your squares, because dressing for dinner should be fun and comfortable. If it is a formal reunion dinner, for example, keep it classy and establish your fashion superiority to your old friends in the form of a perfectly fit navy or black tux.
