the guide to mens suits

Dolce and Gabbana/Bluefly.com

(Lincoln, NE)

I have been admiring the slim-fitting style of Dolce and Gabbana suits for quite sometime. I live in Nebraska, so I am nowhere near a store.

I decided to order one from bluefly.com. I received the suit yesterday and was speechless.

Stitching is on the outside of the flaps. The material seems to be very cheap. Bluefly seems reputable and the suit passed all the "how to spot a fake tests" (correct label, Dolce and Gabbana lining), but I cannot see how such a prestigious brand of suits would feel that cheap.

I have no experience with designer suits but it seems to me that the material would be soft to the touch and the stitching would not be on the outside of the collar flaps.

Any help that anyone can give would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time. The suit that I purchased was the Dolce and Gabbana black stretch wool 2 button "Gold" suit with flat front pants that can be found on bluefly.com.

I took a look.

I took a look at the suit in question. It seems that the suit is their "stretch" model. The material break down is:

Shell: 78% Virgin Wool / 20% Nylon / 2% Elastane

I think this might be the reason it feels "cheap". While nylon is great for creating a suit that does not wrinkle easily, it isn't the most "natural feeling" fabric you can wear. I don't even know what Elastane is, but I'm sure you won't find that on the back of any sheep or goat either.

Hope this helps,

Tim C.
