Funeral Attire

Men tend not to think much about what they put on their bodies. However, when it comes to funeral attire they should take a little bit of time to think about what they are going to wear.

For a traditional funeral a man should wear a suit. This should be done to show their respect for the deceased and the family of the deceased.

For a non-traditional funeral you should play it by ear. If you are going to the funeral of a lifelong biker and everyone is wearing their colors, patches to show which group they belong to, you do not want to show up wearing your best suit. Standing in front of the motorcycle urn or casket in business attire would not be appropriate. If you are unsure of what to wear contact someone who would know what type of funeral the family is conducting.

For colors of clothing, for the most part it should be black or dark blue. Again, this might be different for a non-traditional funeral. Make sure you check with someone if you are unsure.

A clean, white dress shirt and neutral colored tie should finish your suit off nicely. Make sure you steer clear of bright colors and loud prints. It is important that you show respect for the deceased and the mourning family.
