Funeral Suit Tips
The funeral suit is one of the most difficult kinds of suits for people to have to purchase. While many dread going to funerals, it is inevitable that most of us will end up at one sooner or later.
It is thus extremely important that we purchase only the most appropriate clothing for such a sensitive occasion. Also, consider getting this type of suit now and maintaining it so that when you are mourning, you won't have to worry about dealing with any suit issues.
Funeral Suit Colors
The traditional color for this occasion is black. Go with a clean, simple black suit and your outfit will not garner unnecessary attention.
The primary objective here is to not distract from the service so that everyone may pay his or her respect without being bothered. While a number of men own a suit in this color, some men strongly prefer to not wear black at all.
If you are one of these men and black simply is not an option for you, then other appropriate color choices include gray and a dark navy blue. In fact, in recent years, it is not uncommon to see lighter shades of gray suits at a funeral.
It is never socially appropriate to attend such an event as an adult without a suit. Casual dress has become more common at solemn occasions but just because your friend is not wearing his suit, does not mean you should follow suit, so to speak.
More important than your suit choice, of course, is your attendance, but make sure you wear something simple and respectful. Do not be the guy who shows up in a white tuxedo and purple tie. If you follow the advice given here, you shouldn't have any problems and no one will give you a hard time.
Every man should own one classically colored suit and this is a perfect example why. A suit purchase is never a wasted investment unless you manage to buy something that does not fit you at all.
A good suit in a solemn color can be used for a myriad of purposes and doesn't just have to be a funeral suit. Your clean and classic black suit can double as your interview suit or you could sport this attire at a wedding.
In fact, any more formal occasion would warrant a great, solemn suit. It makes people take a man seriously and projects a sense of professionalism and respect.
