Should I say stripes and polka dots?

It's all about style.

It's all about style.

I am wearing a nice vintage black suit with white pinstripes without the suit coat with a nice white dress shirt and a nice black, white and red polka dotted bow tie to give a little diversity.

a good example

This is a good example of how to ruin a nice suit. Being nice will not always bring you the best results.

One rule...
by: Anonymous

You need at least one item muted in this outfit. Looks like the vest and pants are a set. And you are probably dead-set on that tie. But the stripes on the shirt is over-doing it-- especially because all the stripes on your outfit appear to be the same size, proportion, and frequency. You are drawing attention to yourself, indeed...but it might not draw the comments you want.

Thanks to Everyone

Thanks to everyone for your comments and especially to the anonymous person who is a coward for leaving the crazy comment. Have you ever heard of the saying, If you cant say something nice, dont say anything at all, but its cool though. Once again, thanks and God Bless

The vest?
by: The Suit Guy

Ok, I think it's all-in-all a good combination but I'd like to point out major flaws. The pinstripes on the vest are different than the trousers? That's a no no - also, I understand the bow tie and like the patterns involved, but I think the bow tie is a little too big. Pair it with a regular bright tie and MATCHING pinstripes and you've got 5 stars amigo.

Nooooo!

Just add a fl;ower that squirts water and you're good to go. That really is a dreadful bow tie.

Getting there
by: Anonymous

When I first learned to wear a bow tie, one of the rules was "Never wear a bow wider than your cheekbones." Adjust the tie down a bit, and you should be better off.

Dunno about that tie.
by: GP

I love the suit and don't think you have any problem mixing stripes and polka-dots... the problem here is the size of that bow-tie. I have to be honest and say that the first thing I thought was "clown tie". I think something smaller and more sedate would bring some of the focus back to your impecable suit (and handsome face.)
