Suit Styles Defined

These days suit styles seem to blend together in a wide array of fashion disasters. However, all a person really needs to know is that their are three main types to choose from. The British, American, and Italian styles are the only three styles you'll ever need to know.

Italian style suits come with wide lapels, slit pockets, and remains vent less. These suits are always double breasted which makes them quickly recognizable.

Short and stocky men can benefit from this suit because the double breasted jacket and pleated pants are great for hiding a mans body. However, tall and lean men can also look very dashing in this suit as it can really show off a persons height.

The British style suit can also be known as the English suit but the concept is still always the same. Look for three button models with average sized lapels. The pants will generally be pleated or double pleated and always cuffed.

Wear this suit to gain a more authoritative look. The reason for this is because the added material and high neckline make it look more formal than either the Italian or American styles.

The American suit style can also be know as the Sac suit. This type of styling is always two button with flat front pants.

This type of suit is great for showing off a man's physique. The lower neckline does a great job accentuating the chest while the flat front pants make the legs stand out more than the pleats.

Please use this knowledge to make your next suit purchase a great success, and remember to always buy a suit style that will compliment your body rather than show off its weaknesses.
