Why Own A Suit
Suits You Sir… Why Own A Suit
Without owning at least one good suit a man can fight a losing style battle on a number of grounds. To own a suit allows you the opportunity to display to the world that you are successful, that you have a great eye for fashion and style, and that you are a person with taste who cares for his appearance.
If you look as though you take pride in the way you look, it follows that you probably take great pride in other aspects of your life including business. The suit can tell you apart from others without so much as opening your mouth. That’s a great head start.
As well as making you appear to have all these qualities, a good suit can appear to alter your physical appearance. If you are short and round, a nice pin stripe suit can make you look much taller and slimmer. On the other hand, someone who is already tall and slim can be shortened and filled-out by a well cut charcoal gray wool suit.
You must ensure your suit fits well. This need not be expensive, but it’s money well spent. You can save money later by ensuring you don’t pile on so many extra pounds that the suit no longer fits.
You should wear the modern styles. There’s little point owning a suit if it looks outdated. The precise reason you wish to own a nice men’s suit may be to look modern and stylish. Stay up to date. You will have plenty of time to wear it.
Unless you are a rich financier, you don’t require a dozen suits. Why spend your time and money having them all dry cleaned. The more often you wear a suit then the more you will need.
Suits are one of the most important items of clothing any man can have in his wardrobe. If you are to wear a suit for business use, seek some advice before (or whilst) buying. Don’t simply rely upon the salesman. At the end of the day, they require their commission.
Buy off the rack only if you are of reasonably average stature. Otherwise always opt for the fitted item. The better cut, fit and finishing will well be worth the extra. If you decide you really must own a suit, own one that looks good on you.
